Norway 2017 —
After having spent two year in Norway at UWC Red Cross Nordic doing the IB Diploma, I always aim to go back and visit my host family once a year. I was fortunate enough to become a part of the host family programme and wold go visit for a weekend every month. My host dad spent a lot of time in the mountains and was certified glacier guide and hiking leader when he was younger and my host mum is a textile artist working within the field of weave. My host dad has a cabin in the mountains, hours away from the nearest supermarket. They also have a cabin at the South coast of Norway, which I went to see for the first time. This year I also had the pleasure of attending Førdefestivalen, a folk music festival with artists coming from all over the world to share their regional music, often dressed in beautiful national costumes
I often find inspiration in my trips to Norway and use imagery from the mountains in many of my projects. I feel very at home in the mountains and enjoy spending time with my host family as we have many interests in common.
